This year, World Travel Market (WTM) London, one of the world’s best events on the travel industry’s calendar, took place on November 5–7. The event focused on the travel power and how attendees, including tourism boards, hoteliers, transport services, technology brands, associations and experiences, can use their platforms for positive change.
This was not the first time GP Solutions was present there, and, once again, it didn’t disappoint. Gathering the top participants of the industry and delivering only the best services throughout the previous years, it manages to grow bigger and better each time.
The program was packed with engrossing sessions split into several conference tracks:
- Diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI)
- Geo-economics
- Marketing
- Sustainability
- Travel trends
- Technology
WTM London creates an excellent opportunity for travel experts to schedule face-to-face meetings, network, and talk about joint business efforts. Our team was sure to grab that chance and make the most of it.
As an exhibitor, we showcased our innovative products including GP Travel Enterprise and GP Travel Hub and custom development services we offer for the travel sector. We are on a mission to simplify and automate travel business processes through our software products, and it was inspiring to see that more and more industry professionals recognize their value and show a sincere interest in partnering with us. That truly motivates us to keep innovating.
Overall, exhibitors included tourism boards, hoteliers, transport brands, technology services, and world-class experiences. It was a great honor to be among such a versatile crowd of peers.
No less, it was a pleasure engaging with so many of our valued partners, strengthening collaborations, and laying the groundwork for exciting new partnerships ahead. We may honestly state that business talks were going on all the time at our stand during the event. We managed to have profound discussions with existing and new potential customers from around the world — Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Maldives — with a couple of them already proceeding to the contract signing stage. Some partnerships also looked promising, and we are currently processing and analyzing the best model for further cooperation.
Our Insights
- Visitors were mostly interested in partnerships, integrations, and our off-the-shelf software products rather than custom development — a trend observed not only in the travel industry but globally irrespective of the domain.
- The eagerness to travel remains strong, and the interest in new, undiscovered destinations continues to rise, offering great potential to boost the tourism sector in the coming years. With it, we may expect the elevated search for efficient and smart software solutions ready to adapt to unconventional travel business models.
- Despite the hype around AI cultivated by the media, the major high-level problem persists to be the software used by companies. We learned that many businesses are on the lookout for a reliable software solution that would propel them to the next level. Many still use legacy systems launched back in the days when companies didn’t anticipate the broadband internet and the crucial need for multiple connections and integrations. Or they use a bulky architecture too difficult to maintain and scale. AI is capable of doing wonders for the travel industry, yet without efficient software it interests companies the least.
- Group tours and group bookings remain one of the most difficult part for many travel players. We are glad that our company is moving in the right direction and adding new features and extended functionality to our platform to address this need.
